This is happening to me since today after applying the latest updates. I
updated 5 days ago so the bug is between the last 5 days and today. It
shows like this. After doing the complete update process I reboot it and
after the login screen (lightdm) I get a black screen. If I press
CTRL+ALT+BCKSPC I can see the icons of the Desktop for a split second,
similar to eye blinking and then I am back in the lightdm login screen.

The only way I am writing this is from the guest session. I can't use
the account from where I did the upgrade or another account for work.
Only the guest session.

My hardware is a HP DV6000 Laptop with an Intel video card.

Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller

CPU -  Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU         T5500  @ 1.66GHz
