In 11.10, nvidia-settings has to be launched from konsole using kdesudo. It will complain when saving the settings the first time, but it will work: settings will survive a reboot.
The default menu entry in KDE launcher should be changed in 12.4 to include kdesudo and xorg.conf should be modified so that nvidia-settings can save its settings without complaining about any errors. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-settings in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/764410 Title: Fails to parse xorg.conf, fails to auto enable 2nd monitor, fails to use primary monitor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-settings/+bug/764410/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
