** Description changed:

  There might be two causes of this bug:
  - I had S-ATA ALPM activated and high IO activity (unTarring a system backup)
  - My screen started flickering upon opening Google MapsGL, but the GPU seemed 
to be hanging before that.
  
  I added i915.i915_enable_rc6=0 to my cmdline now, and it seems to be
  working fine (but rc6 was the whole reason for upgrading to precise)
