Hi Neon, If you are running ubuntu 12.04 even if you are running gnome-shell, you have compiz and unity installed. To verify go to terminal, type the following two commands and note the output. unity --version ( that is unity (space) --(two dashes)version. You should see the installed versions of unity and compiz.
