I guess this can be removed - I finally found some info on this. As I guess everyone knows, fglrx doesn't yet support the latest kernel. 9.8 just came out, but it still doesn't support 2.6.31 just up to 2.6.30.
Worse, the open source drivers don't support r600-r700 - so I'm out in the cold with 3d and my ATI card.
