If you run 'ps -ef', you'll see the following shell process: sh -c "while true; do /usr/bin/xdg-screensaver reset; sleep 30; done"
Kill that process and the messages will stop. Bug #883618 really does look like a duplicate of this one, but I'm not going to mark this as a duplicate because that problem was supposedly fixed for precise yet people are still reporting the problem. Maybe it's fixed for upgrades *from* precise (to quantal), not upgrades *to* precise. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/881725 Title: "xset: unable to open display" while do-release-upgrade via ssh To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/881725/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
