You have been subscribed to a public bug: Periodically, after the system detect an internal error, and is preparing an "error report to help fix the problem", I get an error message from Apport which states:
"Since development is complete for the 'precise' version of Ubuntu, you should probably use its technical support channels instead of this tool." See attached screenshot. I am not sure what the system is trying to tell me as it detected the internal error and it is preparing the error report. What exactly is it trying to tell me I am doing wrong? In the most recent case, Compiz crashed. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Release: 12.04 $ apt-cache policy apport apport: Installed: 2.0.1-0ubuntu7 Candidate: 2.0.1-0ubuntu8 Version table: 2.0.1-0ubuntu8 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-updates/main i386 Packages *** 2.0.1-0ubuntu7 0 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2.0.1-0ubuntu5 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main i386 Packages ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: apport-gtk 2.0.1-0ubuntu7 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-24.39-generic-pae 3.2.16 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-24-generic-pae i686 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia wl ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu7 Architecture: i386 Date: Mon Jun 11 16:55:37 2012 ExecutablePath: /usr/share/apport/apport-gtk InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release i386 (20120423) InterpreterPath: /usr/bin/python2.7 PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: apport UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: xdiagnose (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 precise -- Apport dialog saying that "development is complete for the 'precise' version of Ubuntu" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1011845 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xdiagnose in Ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
