This can be adjusted by modifying the coordinates transformation matrix for the 
touchscreen using xinput. However, other problems arise after doing that.

There are at least three other bugs about this problem registered in
launchpad too, but I don't have their numbers right now. However,
they've been reported against xorg, without specifying the evdev
package.
