*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 973096 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/973096
I just updated to 12.04, and I have an NVIDIA 9800 GTX. I got the random X restart with very little information in the logs - the only relevant thing was "gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable)", and apport trying to make a log and failing due to an invalid pid. Also, after this occurred I was unable to switch to another console with ctrl+alt+f1. The crash was very repeatable by watching videos on youtube or similar for several minutes. I am not completely convinced that this is a duplicate of #973096, because there was no crash/fault logged before the Fatal IO Error 11, as reported by the people in that bug. I rolled the driver back to 290.10 and it has been fine so far. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/980519 Title: Random log off in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/980519/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
