You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When I startup my computer everything runs very smoothly. Then after a
whiles work, it gets VERY laggy. Everything is painfully slow, glxgears
give me ~10fps :O

I havent found a single source that triggers this, it seems to happend
after a while, no matter what I do. Maybe a memory leak in the on the
gfx-memory? (RAM is several GB free). I'd be glad to give more
information, if I know what to look for.

Works fine in 10.04 LTS

I have tried installing 10.10, 11.04, 11.10 and 12.04 and all gives this
issue.

Also tried running with and without nvidia binary drivers (as well as
trying all different available binary drivers in the list)
