I frequently, but not always, experience a total system freeze when I
click on the Unity "Dash Home" button. The Dash opens, then nothing on
the screen responds to mouse points or clicks, and the keyboard doesn't
respond either. CTRL ALT Backspace appears to do nothing.
In April, I installed fresh at 12.04LTS, after previously experiencing
no such freeze in 10.04 or some earlier version of Ubuntu. The computer
is an Intel 1.5 Celeron M in an HP Slimline. 32 Bit. I keep Ubuntu up to
date regularly, and it is right now the latest version from Software
Updater.
Also, and this may not be related, but fonts, particularly smaller
points like 10, tend to miss entire sections of the letters. When I'm
writing this report in Firefox, it's mostly fine, but in Libre Office,
and on the page where I found how to submit a bug, the small font is
consistently difficult to read. The portions of the characters missing
are consistent and letter specific. Oh, just noticed the 5 in this form
is not displaying correctly, the right portion of the rounded lower half
is not visible. Screenshot attached.
