**UPDATE: All the glitches and screen update issues are gone now after creating, in 12.04 it's by default not there, an xorg.conf (in /etc/X11/xorg.conf) file with the following:
Section "Device" Identifier "intel" Driver "intel" Option "AccelMethod" "uxa" EndSection (the hint is stated in xorg-edgers' ppa here https://launchpad.net /~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa) **IMPORTANT: - The issue has exacerbated though with Firefox and all its related windows and dialogues; that all text is not displayed at all in the tabs or other dialogues as the attached screen shows. - Google Chrome works properly though with no problems. ** Attachment added: "Screen of Firefox with Xorg-edgers using UXA as an acceleration method" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1039938/+attachment/3273111/+files/FirefoxXorgEdgers.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1039938 Title: [xorg-edgers] glitches in kde panel during scrolling in e.g. firefox To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1039938/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
