Public bug reported: nvidia-current v304.43-0ubuntu1 fails to build because nvidia have added a macro NV_ACPI_OS_WAIT_EVENTS_COMPLETE that takes the 3.6 kernel into account already. So buildfix_kernel_3.6.patch fails to apply when you try to install nvidia-current v304.43-0ubuntu1.
Since the buildfix_kernel_3.6.patch patch is not required, removing these lines from dkms.conf fixes this bug and allows nvidia-current to build correctly: PATCH[0]="buildfix_kernel_3.6.patch" PATCH_MATCH[0]="^3.6" Note that nvidia-current_304.43-0ubuntu1~xedgers~quantal2_amd64.deb from the xorg-xedgers repo does build correctly, so maybe it already has this fix? ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1043054 Title: nvidia-current 304.43-0ubuntu1 fails to install on kernel 3.6 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/1043054/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
