Public bug reported:

I'm getting random crashes from my xserver. They seem to be occurring
after three or four days of uptime, and doing something as innocuous as
switching a tab in my browser.

One crash happened in KDE, the other in XFCE.

My laptop is an HP Envy 14, and I'm using the integrated (Intel)
graphics.

(I would try the ubuntu-bug xorg command, but in trying to fix this, I tried to
update to quantal, and the newer version of xorg, and that's screwed my
packaging so I now have to reinstall. I'm downloading Debian.)

** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
