Actually, you should probably remove xorg.conf completely, as it shouldn't be needed for the open-source driver. See: http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Quantal_Installation_Guide#Removing_Catalyst.2Ffglrx

I've filed a new bug for you here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release- upgrader/+bug/1069237 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1068434 Title: updating to Quantal breaks the system with Radeon HD 4200 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/1068434/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
