This bug is caused by bugs #574397 and #1069365. As you can see in the xorg.conf, the nvidia kernel module cannot be loaded. This is so, because it was simply not build because of missing kernel headers. The wrong screen resulution comes from the fallback. Workaround: install kernel headers and reinstall nvidia-current manually. Reboot.
I will close the bug -> status invalid. ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1069151 Title: NVidiaDriver does not work with 640GT To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/1069151/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
