There is an easier way: Just fetch the patches DEB packages from my Experimental PPA: https://launchpad.net/~ximion/+archive/ppa/+sourcepub/2784157/+listing-archive-extra and install them. You then just need to be careful when updating your Xserver: The debdiff here needs to have been applied, if not, X will stop working again. (That's why I hope someone from the X team will take this patch soon)
