** Description changed: I use HDD encryption, hence I am given a passphrase prompt at the beginning of the boot process. Every second bootup the screen remains black when the ubuntu splash is expected. When this happens, it results in me having to reset the laptop. This in turn yields the grub menu. When proceeding to load the kernel, the ubuntu splash screen appears as expected. This problem does not occurr with fglrx. I have enabled the grub menu for every bootup. The problem persists though.
