I'm having a problem which might be similar to this one, except the color distortions are even worse.
I have an iMac with a Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT. I've included a picture. This is on a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 without the fglrx driver installed (as it doesn't install for me and this time I haven't even tried to install it). I can provide more details if needed.
