As I mentioned several times: kernel 3.5.0-18 for me does extremely well. Did you try that, Joris? I had a few other kernel issues also but filed them to kernel.org where I got response pretty fast. Maybe Canonical is not so much involved into the kernel development (any more) and just take what is coming from the kernel folks. [offtopic=on] That said, I have still the impression that Ubuntu is the distro that has least problems with devices (my last try of Fedora had still issues with my wireless and mobile internet sticks).
