I'm currently using the 3.7.0-7 kernel and tried your suggestion
(nouveau.config=PGRAPH=0) but I'm still seeing the corrupted screen (as
shown in #4). I also tried your other suggestion with the same results.

I entered these settings in the same place that I entered "nomodeset"
(during boot up). I hope that was correct. If not, let me know and I'll
test again.
