You have been subscribed to a public bug: While running nomachine's nx server on Ubuntu 12.10, and connecting to it via OpenNX client for Mac OS 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion), upon getting the initial window load, I have a pop-up immediately come up saying,
"Error activating XKB configuration. There can be various reasons for that. If you report this situation as a bug, include the results of xprop -root | grep XKB gsettings get org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard model gsettings get org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard layouts gsettings get org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard options Hence, I'm producing my output here: $ xprop -root | grep XKB _XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "xfree86", "empty", "empty", "", "" _XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "xfree86", "empty", "empty", "", "" $ gsettings get org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard model '' $ gsettings get org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard layouts ['us'] $ gsettings get org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard options @as [] I've read some posts, and some talk about symlinks in the xkb/rules directory, so dumping that info here too just in case: root@XXXXXX:/usr/share/X11/xkb/rules# ls -l total 584 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 42123 Sep 27 18:52 base -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 10822 Sep 27 18:52 base.extras.xml -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 39913 Sep 27 18:52 base.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 191622 Sep 27 18:52 base.xml -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 39625 Sep 27 18:52 evdev -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 10822 Sep 27 18:52 evdev.extras.xml -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 39913 Sep 27 18:52 evdev.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 191622 Sep 27 18:52 evdev.xml -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 91 Sep 27 18:52 README lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 Sep 27 18:52 xfree86 -> base lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Sep 27 18:52 xfree86.lst -> base.lst lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Sep 27 18:52 xfree86.xml -> base.xml -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 743 Sep 27 18:52 xfree98 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1126 Sep 27 18:52 xkb.dtd lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 Sep 27 18:52 xorg -> base lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Sep 27 18:52 xorg.lst -> base.lst lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Sep 27 18:52 xorg.xml -> base.xml Please let me know if you need any more information about this. This is on an 24" iMac, 2008 aluminum model, with a full, keyboard (keypad and all). By getting the above popup, most of my keys appear to work, but noticeably, my down key does not. I believe its because there was some error due to the above popup that I'd like to get resolved.
