Public bug reported: I'm using Ubuntu 13.04 dev with xserver-xorg-core 2:1.13.2-0ubuntu1. Normally using X -help works without a problem as user. If a non- existing option is used X will show the help too - but just if the user has enough permissions:
sworddragon@ubuntu:~$ X -invalid_option X: user not authorized to run the X server, aborting. ** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1113223 Title: Help can't be showed because of missing permissions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1113223/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
