Problem persists after remastersys of failing system and SDC to thumb drive when booted on origional Intel system - freeze between boot time and some minutes. Same thumb drive booted on a different Intel system (2 CP chip and MB) does not freeze.
Same description problem affected me with "ordinary" upgrade of correctly operating 12.10. Currently must boot with kernel 3.2.0-32 generic and desktop system will operate correctly for days. Boot using any newer kernel, including one as recent as 2/22/2013 upgrade, and desktop operation will freeze within 60 minutes , except for cursor position using mouse. Keys and buttons get no response. Only way out is forced power off. Hardware is 4 CP Intel chip on Intel MB. Forcing compiz and Xorg to different and exclusive CPs using taskset makes no difference. No evident sensitivity to application. When system is frozen an ssh login still works and system appears normal for terminal use. Problem persisted after upgrade to 13.04 beta. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1127332 Title: Ubuntu 12.10 Freezes Randomly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/1127332/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
