Hi, I'm running ubuntu 12.10 32bit with an Acer Aspire (Intel® Core™ i5-3317U CPU @ 1.70GHz × 4, Intel® Ivybridge Mobile x86/MMX/SSE2)
I can confirm that if you try to use inkscape with disabled touchpad the whole Xorg crashes. It's a bad bug.
