For the record. I did this with a live-cd, but it also happened when using Ubuntu installed and updated in the hard disk.
Also, to mention, using apport wasn't really intuitive: ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ apport-collect 1173123 You need to run 'sudo apt-get install python-apport' for apport-collect to work. ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get install python-apport [...] ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ apport-collect 1173123 ERROR: The launchpadlib Python module is not installed. This functionality is not available.
