FYI, I noticed that if I use the Fn+F4 key on my laptop (which is the 'lower screen brightness' function key) and drop it to 0% (as reported by a screen brightness overlay in KDE, if I'm logged in), my backlight goes completely off, to the point that I cannot see anything on the screen (similar to the problem I have when I boot up without an external monitor plugged in). Pressing Fn+F5 ('raise screen brightness'), it comes back on, of course.
So the "echo ### > /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness"-in-/etc/rc.local trick sounds like it will work. I'll test it later today, and report back. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168188 Title: black screen on lenovo g580 and ubuntu 13.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1168188/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
