William, you said that Ubuntu 9.10 doesn't need SHMConfig at all. I am trying to figure out whether my touchpad recognizes two fingers. The command "synclient -m 10" gives an error "Can't access shared memory area. SHMConfig disabled?" Seems like it's looking for SHMConfig after all.
