Public bug reported: After upgrade to Kubuntu 13.04, "lock screen" (from the desktop right- click menu and also when coming out of "suspend to RAM") will not accept my password. It says that it is invalid. I have checked several times and I am typing the correct password. I checked that the cap-lock light is not on.
I have been unable to determine which package provides "lock screen". Muon Package Manager says I do not have gnome-screensaver ot xscreensaver installed. I used 'ubuntu-bug' to generate this bug report. I don't know why it filed it under 'xorg'. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 13.04 Release: 13.04 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: xorg 1:7.7+1ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-23.34-generic 3.8.11 Uname: Linux 3.8.0-23-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.9.2-0ubuntu8.1 Architecture: amd64 Date: Wed Jun 12 10:49:01 2013 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-06-01 (10 days ago) InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release amd64 (20100427) MarkForUpload: True ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE= PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: xorg Symptom: display UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to raring on 2013-06-03 (9 days ago) ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug kubuntu raring -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1190180 Title: password not accepted in "lock screen" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1190180/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
