Public bug reported: I have an Intel DH77EB motherboard with an Intel i7-3770S which has the HD Graphics 4000 built in. Connected to this is a Dell 30" U3014 (2560x1600) via displayport and a Dell 2007FP (1600x1200) via HDMI
I can get to the login screen just fine, but after logging in both screens go blank with a kernel crash [ 70.741378] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [ 70.741396] WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-3.8.0/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_display.c:5377 ironlake_crtc_mode_set+0x88a/0x8b0 [i915]() [ 70.741397] Hardware name: [ 70.741398] Modules linked in: pci_stub vboxpci(OF) vboxnetadp(OF) vboxnetflt(OF) vboxdrv(OF) snd_hda_codec_hdmi snd_hda_codec_realtek bnep rfcomm bluetooth nls_iso8859_1(F) coretemp kvm_intel kvm ghash_clmulni_intel(F) aesni_intel(F) aes_x86_64(F) xts(F) lrw(F) gf128mul(F) ablk_helper(F) cryptd(F) joydev(F) ppdev(F) microcode(F) lpc_ich snd_hda_intel snd_hda_codec snd_hwdep(F) snd_pcm(F) snd_page_alloc(F) parport_pc(F) snd_seq_midi(F) snd_seq_midi_event(F) snd_rawmidi(F) snd_seq(F) wmi snd_seq_device(F) snd_timer(F) i915 snd(F) soundcore(F) mei video(F) drm_kms_helper mac_hid drm i2c_algo_bit lp(F) parport(F) usb_storage(F) hid_generic usbhid hid e1000e(F) ahci(F) libahci(F) [ 70.741416] Pid: 1255, comm: Xorg Tainted: GF O 3.8.0-23-generic #34-Ubuntu [ 70.741418] Call Trace: [ 70.741422] [<ffffffff810587ef>] warn_slowpath_common+0x7f/0xc0 [ 70.741423] [<ffffffff8105884a>] warn_slowpath_null+0x1a/0x20 [ 70.741429] [<ffffffffa014309a>] ironlake_crtc_mode_set+0x88a/0x8b0 [i915] [ 70.741435] [<ffffffffa014761b>] intel_set_mode+0x63b/0xa30 [i915] [ 70.741442] [<ffffffffa0148126>] intel_crtc_set_config+0x716/0x950 [i915] [ 70.741449] [<ffffffffa00bdc11>] drm_mode_setcrtc+0x121/0x5a0 [drm] [ 70.741454] [<ffffffffa00ae559>] drm_ioctl+0x4e9/0x5b0 [drm] [ 70.741459] [<ffffffffa00bdaf0>] ? drm_mode_setplane+0x370/0x370 [drm] [ 70.741462] [<ffffffff811a5a19>] do_vfs_ioctl+0x99/0x570 [ 70.741463] [<ffffffff811a5f81>] sys_ioctl+0x91/0xb0 [ 70.741466] [<ffffffff816d3a9d>] system_call_fastpath+0x1a/0x1f [ 70.741467] ---[ end trace c5942333a9a870ba ]--- [ 70.966610] [drm:ivb_manual_fdi_link_train] *ERROR* FDI train 1 fail!
