I had this problem on UBUNTU 13.04 on the same laptop (Dell latitude 5430) I did a simple thing - just a lucky shot - .. updated all the xserver packages that I had as follows
"sudo apt-get install xserver" it will correct you and show about 3 xserver packages .... install them all (they should be installed .. but whatever) "sudo apt-get install <xserver-****>" then upgrade them "sudo apt-get upgrade <xserver-****>" and it is solved now ^_^ A.Z -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1071442 Title: Dell Latitude E5430+12.04 - X Freezes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1071442/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
