This issue was discussed on intel-gfx recently. The ringbuffer wraps around in the middle of an instruction:
0x0001fff8: 0x10800001: MI_STORE_DATA_INDEX 0x0001fffc: 0x00000080: dword 1 Buffer size too small in MI_STORE_DATA_INDEX (2 < 3) A fix has been committed in Eric Anholt's drm-intel-next kernel tree: drm/i915: Pad ringbuffer with NOOPs before wrapping (commit 0ef82af7253c1929a3995f271b8b0db462d1a0c3) -- [i945GM] GPU lockup with intel 2:2.8.1-1ubuntu1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/424613 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
