Public bug reported: I don't know yet what triggers this - maybe Firefox just doesn't like Nvidia proprietary drivers, or vice versa - but after some unpredictable amount of system uptime, the mouse cursor becomes invisible. It still EXISTS - for example, you can track down the location via mouseover tooltips and such. But you can't see it.
Things that don't fix it: * Switch to another workspace * Click rapidly in frustration/wiggle mouse all over the place * Install and remove 'unclutter' * Play around with the System Settings > Displays thing (extremely difficult without a visible mouse) Things that fix it: * Restart computer * Switch to a getty with CTRL-ALT-F* My computer is a System76 Wild Dog Performance desktop, running Ubuntu 13.10, with xserver-xorg 1:7.7+1ubuntu6 (according to apt-cache policy). I have the Nvidia proprietary drivers installed, and use Unity. Expected behavior: Mouse cursor is visible, no matter how long I'm logged in. Happened instead: Mouse disappeared after awhile (current uptime 18h 20m, but that's on the short side). ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1248779 Title: Mouse cursor disappears after using desktop for awhile To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1248779/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
