The TwinView solution was given up in favour RandR. This means that screen configuration is possible with the system provided graphical tools.
There is enough reason to understand this bug can be closed as a newer version of software-package didn't make it appear any longer. Thanks for reporting this bug and all the energy you gave in order to make Ubuntu better.
