Public bug reported: While viewing an svg I made in the stock photo viewer (eye of gnome), I zoomed in to about 2000 percent (the max), at which point the image became fully transparent, and displayed the grey and white checkerboard. My screen then went black for some time and returned to the login screen. After logging in, my fans turned on, and Apport began consuming many gigabytes of RAM, as well as 100 percent of one cpu. I killed it and everything returned to normal.
