You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Sometimes, text is rendered light gray-ish instead of black. That
applies to some buttons, menu lables, even to text in different web
browsers. My font rendering is set to "best form", but other settings
gave the same result. Now I set it to "black and white" but I kinda
doubt that works. The fun thing is, that sometimes when the text has to
be redrawn (e.g. because a window moved over it and off again), the text
is fine, again.
