Public bug reported: I believe this crash is another instance of bug #1285713, but apport encouraged me to file a new bug rather than add information to the existing bug, so here it is.
With a default install of 14.04 Trusty, every time I launch the Amazon App from the Unity toolbar the screen freezes, the keyboard becomes unresponsive, and eventually portions of the screen disaapear. Over a serial console, I see the following kernel error messages get logged: [ 1508.652362] nouveau E[ PFIFO][0000:04:00.0] DMA_PUSHER - ch 5 [webapp-containe[4490]] get 0x0020080044 put 0x0020080534 ib_get 0x00000323 ib_put 0x00000332 state 0x80007458 (err: INVALID_CMD) push 0x00406040 [ 1508.671543] nouveau E[ PFIFO][0000:04:00.0] DMA_PUSHER - ch 5 [webapp-containe[4490]] get 0x002036a004 put 0x002036a00c ib_get 0x00000324 ib_put 0x00000332 state 0x80000000 (err: INVALID_CMD) push 0x00406040 [ 1508.713736] nouveau E[ PFIFO][0000:04:00.0] DMA_PUSHER - ch 5 [webapp-containe[4490]] get 0x0020081750 put 0x0020081c70 ib_get 0x00000327 ib_put 0x00000342 state 0x80007220 (err: INVALID_CMD) push 0x00406040 [ 1508.732017] nouveau E[ PFIFO][0000:04:00.0] DMA_PUSHER - ch 5 [webapp-containe[4490]] get 0x002036a004 put 0x002036a00c ib_get 0x00000328 ib_put 0x0000036c state 0x80000000 (err: INVALID_CMD) push 0x00406040 [ 1508.752623] nouveau E[ PFIFO][0000:04:00.0] DMA_PUSHER - ch 5 [webapp-containe[4490]] get 0x0020081d70 put 0x0020081d7c ib_get 0x00000329 ib_put 0x0000036c state 0x80006ffc (err: INVALID_CMD) push 0x00406040 [ 1508.771801] nouveau E[ PFIFO][0000:04:00.0] DMA_PUSHER - ch 5 [webapp-containe[4490]] get 0x002036a004 put 0x002036a00c ib_get 0x0000032a ib_put 0x0000036c state 0x80000000 (err: INVALID_CMD) push 0x00406040 [ 1508.790987] nouveau E[ PFIFO][0000:04:00.0] DMA_PUSHER - ch 5 [webapp-containe[4490]] get 0x0020083670 put 0x0020083a14 ib_get 0x0000032f ib_put 0x0000036c state 0x80000000 (err: INVALID_CMD) push 0x00406040 [ 1508.810165] nouveau E[ PFIFO][0000:04:00.0] DMA_PUSHER - ch 5 [webapp-containe[4490]] get 0x002036a004 put 0x002036a00c ib_get 0x00000330 ib_put 0x0000036c state 0x80000000 (err: INVALID_CMD) push 0x00406040 [ 1541.446180] nouveau E[ DRM] GPU lockup - switching to software fbcon ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.10-1ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-24.46-generic 3.13.9 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-24-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' Date: Sun Apr 27 12:59:00 2014 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: trusty DistroVariant: ubuntu ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes GraphicsCard: NVIDIA Corporation G98 [GeForce 8400 GS Rev. 2] [10de:06e4] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
