I don't think it's useful to keep a Mir task open for this. AMD may or may not choose to support Mir directly at some point in the future, but there are no Mir-internal changes for that.
Also note, in the cases like this where an incompatible driver is loaded preventing Mir from working, the solution to avoiding a blank screen is in bug 1118903. ** Also affects: fglrx-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: fglrx-installer (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: fglrx-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist ** Summary changed: - Lack of support for proprietary drivers + Lack of support for AMD fglrx driver ** Changed in: mir Status: New => Invalid ** Summary changed: - Lack of support for AMD fglrx driver + Lack of Mir support in AMD fglrx driver -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1318323 Title: Lack of Mir support in AMD fglrx driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1318323/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
