** Description changed: In Trusty with the Nouveau driver selected, the system hangs on resume from suspend, sometimes showing some or all of the pre-suspend screen contents, and sometimes a "boot messages" screen. The system log shows activity after resume, and sometimes (not always) contains the error nouveau E[Xorg[1185]] failed to idle channel 0xcccc0001 [Xorg[1185]] This problem did not exist in Saucy (though the random crash bug 1244312 - did). + did). It cannot be tested with the nvidia-331 driver because bug + 1333431 prevents suspend with that. Possibly relevant: this system has an outdated BIOS because the updater requires Windows (see bug 1244312).
