Public bug reported: I'm trying to design a website using gimp. I have updated Ubuntu to its latest version today, as well as Gimp (12.8.14). Whenever I try to use the rectangle tool, Gimp will crash when trying to enter the dimensions in the size dialogue. I tried to check the Gimp Error Console but it wasn't showing anything. So I decided to check the error log in Xorg. I found several errors where it wasn't locating a certain graphics library. I have the most recent drivers for my graphics chipset, so I'm stumped.
The Xorg error console also crashed at first and I had to wait until all messages between it and the OS were sent and received before I was able to get it to generate an error report to file with you. I'm not sure what's going on. I never had any problems with Gimp in relation to Xorg until today. Incidentally, the same problems were happening before I updated Ubuntu and Gimp from 12.8.10 today. So the updates did nothing to fix it. Thanks and let me know if you require any more information.
