Public bug reported:

When I go to System -> Preferences -> Mouse, I don't see any of the
options for adjusting the touchpad sensitivity, scrolling, tapping, etc.
I'm able to control the pointer and click by tapping using the touchpad,
but I'm unable to do any scrolling, or two-finger tapping. The system
doesn't seem to be identifying the touchpad correctly. When I run xinput
-list, and xinput --test, the input which responds to touchpad movement
is labeled "PS/2 generic mouse."

I found a page on debugging touchpad detection in the ubuntu wiki, which
instructs me to attach the output of some commands to this report. I'm
including the output from: cat /proc/bus/input/devices

I am unable to attach more than one file, I'm not including that from
xinput --list
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log
