Can you please double-check: $ apt-cache policy linux-image-3.16.0-23-generic whether the installed version you use is: Installed: 3.16.0-23.31~14.04.2hf73386v20141028b1 and: $ apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-video-intel equals: Installed: 2.99.916+git20141016.6b98f162-0ubuntu0sarvatt~trusty ?
