"To workaround this you can edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf file as following:
Section "Screen"
        Identifier      "Default Screen"
        Monitor         "Configured Monitor"
        Device          "Configured Video Device"
        SubSection "Display"
                Depth            16
                Modes           "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
                Virtual 1280 1024
        EndSubSection
EndSection"

Now if i restart the machine also i m getting 1024x764 resolution.Its
fine...
