Public bug reported:

I recently installed Ubuntu 15.04 in my system and then upgraded using "apt-get
dist-upgrade" command.
After upgrading, I restarted and then installed kubuntu-full package using
"apt-get install kubuntu-full" command.

I restarted after installing "kubuntu-full".

I am not able to login after restarting my laptop. Laptop trackpad is
not accessible and no mouse pointer is visible on login screen. Laptop
keyboard is accessible only for issuing "REISUB" command. I am not able
to access any virtual terminal.

I am only able to login correctly by selecting "Ubuntu with Upstart" in
the GRUB bootloader screen.
