Alberto, Found the issue :) Finally !
Steps I followed: 1. Install command line version of Ubuntu 2. Install gnome-session x11-xserver-utils xinit package 3. Uninstall xserver-xorg-video-nv (this was causing the issue, we had 2 monitors connected to this system) Now everything works fine as expected Also installed nvidia-185-kernel-source and its dependency package, now X works fine on 2 monitors. Thanks ** Attachment added: "Xorg log generated with xserver-xorg-video-nv driver" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/32724402/Xorg.0.log -- xorg hangs during karmic install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/435570 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
