I filed a new report as requested. Also, a tip to others suffering this bug -- some of the time, I can resolve this without restarting Xorg by simply switching to another console (e.g., CTRL-ALT-F2) and then waiting a moment, then switching back to the Xorg Console (ALT-F7).
