I've tried various others ISO over the last days. kubuntu-13.10-desktop-amd64.iso - blank screen before language chooser, probably another error kubuntu-14.04-desktop-amd64.iso - works kubuntu-14.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso - works kubuntu-14.04.2-desktop-amd64.iso - same error kubuntu-14.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso - the ISO from the original error report kubuntu-14.10-desktop-amd64.iso - same error kubuntu-15.04-desktop-amd64.iso - new KDE version, language chooser completely gone and screen turned off kubuntu-15.10-beta1-desktop-amd64.iso - works again
