Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

I am running the Karmic Beta UNR live cd on an Asus EEE PC 701. Last
month with Karmic UNR Alpha 5 I connected my 2 year old Samsung 226BW
LCD monitor and used Display Preferences to change the resolution to
1680 by 1050 which is the maximum resolution of this monitor. I was very
pleased so I ordered a new AOC 2236VW LCD monitor for my holiday house.
The AOC lcd has a maximum resolution of 1920 by 1080. When I try this
with Display preferences I just see a scrambled picture on the monitor.
I successfully use the next available resolution of 1280 by 1024. I
would like to try 1680 by 1050 with the AOC monitor which is listed in
the AOC specifications as an available setting (see attachment) however
I cannot because Display preferences and xrandr do not list this
resolution. I fiddled with the cvt/ xrandr newmode addmode etc but the
resulting 1680 picture is scrambled.
