You have been subscribed to a public bug: ## Description
For the past few months I have been experiencing a sporadic but very dangerous and critical issue. For some unknown reason my Xorg server will sometimes crash when attempting to open the drop-down list in Synapse. This usually happens after the system has been up for a while. Downgrading Synapse to the build in the Ubuntu repos didn't help. Neither did upgrading the kernel and graphics stack to the latest hardware enablement stacks (I tried both Quantal and Raring. I am currently on the latter.) Do you think this is a fault on Synapse's part or will I have to report this with X.org? In any case I sincerely hope there is some way to fix this and I'd appreciate any help. ## Additional information: Synapse $ uname -a Linux UBN 3.8.0-31-generic #46~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Sep 11 18:21:16 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS Release: 12.04 $ policy synapse synapse: Installed: 0.2.8.2-1ubuntu1.1 Candidate: 0.2.8.2-1ubuntu1.1 $ policy xserver-xorg-lts-raring xserver-xorg-lts-raring: Installed: 1:7.7+1ubuntu4~precise1 Candidate: 1:7.7+1ubuntu4~precise1 $ policy fglrx fglrx: Installed: 2:12.100-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 2:12.100-0ubuntu1 $ fglrxinfo display: :0 screen: 0 OpenGL vendor string: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
