Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd
In a 2.94 Ghz Celeron with the ATI/AMD Radeon 2600XT AGP8X card (This card is still supported by ATI), Mfg. is: "ati2mag_RV630,PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9586" To boot into live CD or installed Karmic Beta, the BIOS setting of "AGP Aperture" must be set at 256 or greater. This details efforts in finding this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1281661 also: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1283376 This happens on a native (default) install or a live CD. (By using the PC's onboard SVGA I was able to get a test install). I consider this important because it could possibly prevent ATI/AMD AGP graphic card users from being able to use a Karmic Live CD, much less install it. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: agp aperture karmic radeon -- AGP Aperture must be 256Mb or more with Radeon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/444824 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
